Hi from Seattle(ish)

Lurked long enough. Making it official. Common-law member?

I'm Gerald. I'm from the Seattle area and part of the Windworks sailing club based at Shilshole Marina. Casually looking for my own boat.

Welcome aboard Gerald from N of the border. Enjoy the search for your boat ... it's an optimistic time when you're not really thinking about how much it costs to own it.

Hi! The first time I ever stepped onto a sailboat was in 2015 when my wife and I stayed at a bed and breakfast up very close to you. We drove down to Victoria and sailed on an old wooden sailboat run by two guys who were doing that for a living. Beautiful day tacking and jibing for 3 hours.

I was totally hooked. That led to me joining a sailing club 6 years later and going through most of their classes.

Re: Hi from Seattle(ish)

Welcome to CruisersForum!

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.
