Hello everyone. I just wanted to stop in and say Hi. I am 23 years old and looking into getting into sailing and possibly living aboard. I just love being in and around the water. I currently don't have sailing experience, but willing to learn. From what I heard it is best to volunteer to be on a crew. How do I go about doing so? There is a race to Ensenada in April 2010 which I would love to attend and hoping I can get on a crew. Any suggestion? Well that is really all I wanted to say. Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the forum...I would say the best way to volunteer is to go to were the boats are and start talking to folks....let them know your intensions.
Its like asking directions when you're lost...the first one you ask doesn’t have to get you their...just closer! Then the next...closer...........................

Go to where the boats are!

In addition to crewing for other folks I'd look into find a basic sailing class so you'll be more valuable to those you crew for.
