Hi, from Sub-Tropical Australia

Currently I don't have a sailing boat but am looking. I have a SOT kayak that I fish from and paddle along the Capricorn coast, near Rockhampton, Australia. The longest open water journey I have made in my kayak was 4.5 km to a small island, which is good for what is basically an oversized surfboard. In my younger days I had a sailing dinghy that I loved. I remember the tourist ferry dropping me and friends off on a secluded beach on Kepple Island where we camped and sailed for a week. Awesome! I am looking forward to getting out among the islands in something bigger than a kayak and sailing dinghy.

Welcome aboard Troppo

Great part of the planet you live on. I've just spent 8 days on a chartered yacht and anchored all around the Kepples on those same beaches. I have to agree it's a pretty special place.

Little island trips are the most fun! We do 40nm trips on our beachcats - so long as it's windy on those days!! Pack a tent and some food, and Bob's your uncle. Welcome aboard!
