Hi from Tennessee (for now)

Hello all! I've been sailing for about 3 years now. I bought my boat when I had my quarter-life crisis and fell in love with sailing. I've been planning to run away from the real world ever since.

In November, my fiance and I are taking our trip. We're planning to head south to the Gulf of Mexico, then around Florida, possibly up the east coast. This all depends on the oil spill cleanup, of course. If the Gulf is still a mess, we'll take the boat to the marina where my parents are and go somewhere else (maybe Europe?) over the winter. Then when spring rolls back around, try again. We'll get to salty water eventually! Grand adventures on the high seas await. But hopefully not too grand on scary high seas.

These forums seem really friendly, and I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with everyone!

Sara,
Saw that you were at Gold Point. We have a cabin at Privateer but seldom get there cept for a few weeks here and there. Do you sail with anyone there at PYC? We are current in Northeast Harbor Maine and will return to the Chesapeake area once the weather cools a bit in Sept.
Good luck on the adventure! Ours started 18 yrs ago and still luving it!
Alan
