Hi, I'm Kyle from Seattle

Hello All,
Great forums you've got here.

I'm Kyle, student from Seattle. I've traveled quite a bit in the last 6 years, the biggest trips were in New Zealand (4 months) and Colombia (1 year). I like being around weird original people who are passionate about life and have chosen to forge their own path!

I've been learning how to sail small boats at the UW yacht club in Seattle and I'm headed down to San Diego in December to try to crew on a boat (hopefully headed down the coast of Mexico).

I'm a self-teacher and fast learner and a good guy to be around. But yes, I'm a noob still as far as sailing goes (well aren't we all newbies in so many things in life?)

Encantado conocerles!

I find I can't get away from weird people - then they have the cheek to accuse me of being the weird one...

So what does noob mean?

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Nathan.

Pleased to meet you, as well.

December may be a little late to catch a berth to Mexico. Hopefully, others will correct my misapprehension.

i am spozed to be sailing south from sin diego in mid december if i am fixed in time--- have been experiencing worker issues-- drama, tardiness--like q week late--you name it--- so i am a bit retarded in my departure plans.
if you dont mind un-shiny boats with a laid back attitude, mine might be ok. i am not averse to instructing.... nor is my projected crew, at this point. this is a formosa that lives up to the rep given......she is solid. her lines are sweet. her rig is new. she is equipped with simrad autopilot on the quadrant, gps, radar, weatherfax.....and she is owned by her ship's cat. rigged as a ketch, should be an interesting adventure. i wont stop until i hit warmer waters.

this year is gonna be tight, as the anticipation is for a hard winter early in appearance. mid dec could be pushing it for us. we will have to watch weather very closely,

If you are riding the bus and can't figure out who the weird person is, it is probably you.

Welcome to CF kpennel. Lots of weird folks here to keep us company...

Would that offer be open to a restless Swede as well?
From what you wrote, you might as well be a twin soul of mine. Laid back, un-shiny but perfectly working things and a desire to reach warmer waters

Ooops, better edit before you jump on me: I meant: With un-shiny but working THINGS, not un-shiny WITH working things .. (that´s me tho lol)

Everyone remember to get your Mexican fishin' licenses before you cast off!
My son will be sailing in Mission Bay on the weekend of the Oct. 23rd if his broken finger doesn't slow him down (someone else slipped while Gerald was helping load dinghies on a trailer and a dinghy fell on his finger).
