Honolulu to Panama

Hello to all, I have a project in progress and was told about this site so I thought I would do a little fishing for information.

I am headed in the next couple of weeks from Honolulu to Panama. Has anyone made that specific trip, I see several the other way, would be interested to hear any and all feedback.

I've not gone that direction but have gone north from Hawaii. I hope others will respond soon.

I actually started a thread in the cruisers section and have had several reply's. I might pose another question however, I am on the mainland and the owner and I have had many discussions about his boat and I don't trust his skill level of objectively rating his boats ability to do the trip. How far are you from Honolulu, do you think you have the skills needed to do an evaluation of a boat and look not only at general condition since I notice you own a boat of the same size and what would you charge me to do so? I am sure that would be cheaper than for me to fly over. Let me know your thoughts, and thanks, Ken
