I'm a Marine Mammal!

Oh man... Am I ever lucky! Started as wide-eyed rail meat ("the *what* side of the boat?") a few months ago on Lucille, a 34' Irwin out of St. Petersburg, FL.

Discovered a new obsession overnight... I now live for Friday nights and the Twilight Series racing off St. Petersburg Pier.

Got to say this... A huge Thank You to Matt, Al and Fran, Ted, and Rick for sharing the knowledge so freely and patiently. An equally huge Thank You to Angie and Dave, Mel, and Lisa for being my fellow rookies and so on the ball.

Here to learn!

Marine mammal you might be but not being on the endangered species list means you get no consideration from the go fast boats:-)

Hi OliveOyle, say hello to Al and Fran for me, John in Vermont. Have they got their boat sailing again?

Hello everyone,
John, I am forwarding a message to Al and Fran right away. Jade was proudly showing off Memorial Day weekend--what a beauty. They aren't finished yet (does anybody ever?) and, yes, she's sailing!

I appreciate the welcome responses. Oh, and the warnings about not expecting any rights from some quarters... that's alright, I have good friends. Not sure what I can do about the Infectious Obsession disease, though :-)

Henryk, good luck with your cruise this September. Three years, huh? It sounds like a graduation celebration... and very inspiring. I hope I can get that far.

Fair Winds!

Aloha SkiprJohn,
Oh yes, passion, or something... I was dreaming of large, white, sparkling kites shortly before I had the opportunity to get into this. Didn't remember that until a few days ago. Anyway, thank you for the kind welcome, it's much appreciated and I hope I see you around the forum (Yikes! How many posts?!??).
