Lionne Is Back

The old salt at the wharf told me that the only people who don't hit rocks are those who never leave the dock. Just hit my first reef. Nobody died. Ship's getting fixed. Had a lot of support from 'the team'. Whew.

Re: Lionne Is Back

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Nikki Nilsson.

Glad nobody was hurt, and the boat's fixable.

Welcome Aboard Cruisers Forum

I prefer to hit mud or sand, they don't hurt as much..

Everyone makes mistakes; the important part is how you respond. Sounds like you have a good outlook.

Your glass is half full. You are one of the very few people on this forum, who know EXACTLY where that rock is.

Reef's evil twin

Nasty bumps - hope yours was not too bad. My rock was not charted among others that were marked and I wasn't familiar with the area (well acquainted now!) - a tad SSW of 48.936653 Lat. x -123.54452 Long. near Conover Cove, Wallace Island on the Pacific north coast - a big stretch from your hood. Hope your vessel is not hurt. Where did the ground reach you? Cheers.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Yes, all sailors go aground at least once. Mine was a soft landing and an easy off.
kind regards,
