Looking for Speakers in PDX

To all NW cruisers:

Do you have an interesting cruise you would like to share with our yacht club? The Sauvie Island Yacht Club (SIYC) is looking for speakers for our regular monthly meetings in the Portland, Oregon area.

We are looking for first-hand tales of offshore passages, cruising in distant lands and interesting places. Photos and visual aids really help. If you would like to speak, or know someone who would be a great speaker, we would like to hear from you.

We meet the first Friday evening of each month at 7:30 PM at the Sauvie Island School; speakers have 1 hr- 1 1/4 hr after a short business meeting. We are looking to find speakers for the following dates (all Fridays): Jan 4, Feb. 1, Mar 1, April 5.

The SIYC is a low-cost organization of sailboat owners who gather to socialize and learn more about sailing, cruising both locally and to distant shores, and the environment. About 1/3 of us have cruised beyond the NW, and about 1/3 are preparing to do so.

Contact me, Craig Johnston, at k7cej@aracnet.com. You can also learn more about our club at Sauvie Island Yacht Club | Portland, Oregon.

Re: Looking for Speakers in PDX

Sorry I missed the opportunity. Could have given a talk on Hawaii to Seattle and Seattle to Hawaii or cruising the Hawaiian Islands. I was just there last month for a couple weeks.
Your members probably know all about that stuff anyway.
Kind regards,
