Love Sailing the Carribean

Hello - Me and my 11 mates (affectionately known as :The Pirate Crew)
are heading to the Carribean Island for our 3rd sail. We have sailed the British Islands twice, and now plan to venture into the US portion. I am looking to tag up with others that have experienced this, and look forward to hearing about your lessons learned, best places of interest, and of course "Where are the more cost effective places to eat, and drink" :0)
Ahoy Matey!

Re: Love Sailing the Carribean

On St. Thomas and St. John's there are bars called Duffy's Love Shack. Great time at both. The one in St. Thomas is a little strange in that it is in the parking lot of strip mall. But the shark tank is worth the trip.

Also, next to Duffy's in St. Thomas is a placed called the Poor Man's Bar (or was it spelt Pour?). When you order a mixed drink, rum and coke for instance, they put a cup with ice, bottle of rum and can of coke in front of you. You make your own as strong as you would like.

For the beach bar thing, I liked Iggy's at Bolongo Bay. Great beach bar feel and the locals play volley ball there on week nights. Good times.

Fair winds,

Jesse

When are you planning on being in the USVI? Plan on anchoring or staying at a marina? Only interested in eating out places, or the best place for cheap store bought rum and good deals on food? Which islands are you planning on? For how long?

Mary Read? Really? And do you have a Anne Bonney and a Calico Jack Rackham aboard?

We're living in their old stomping grounds.

Re: Love Sailing the Carribean

Aloha and welcome aboard!

I remember Bolongo Bay. I borrowed a Sunfish that was on the beach there one great day in the 80s. Very fun.

Wherever you go you find great rum.

kind regards,
