Mariner Amrita reborn

Just found my way here, & saying hello. I just purchased Amrita a Mariner 40 Ketch, which to my understanding has the usual dry rot problems. So, soon to dig into & remove, replace, restore this soon to be a beautiful vessel once again.I will be looking for crew to sail her down from Port Townsend Wa. to San Pedro Ca. this spring, & then down to my beach front property in Drakes Bay Costa Rica in Oct. Fair winds & following seas Andy

Welcome I.P.! We're across the water on Whidbey, but did an eight month haulout in PT at the Boat Haven. Where are you? Sounds like a fun plan!

Re: Mariner Amrita reborn

Thank you Guys, Right now the boat is at Port Hudson until I get back to her April for haul out. need to rebuild engine cover / sink cabinet, new dog house roof & entryway, stern rot removed & repair, & much miscellaneous work. She has move electronics with back ups & engine parts for a rebuild of her Perkins. I have yet to do an inventory which I was told will take me three weeks. Thanks again for the welcome Andy

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I owned an all wood Mariner 35 many years ago and once you get her in sailing condition you'll really love the way she handles. Charlie Cobra is redoing a 32 and has replaced much of the rot which you've run into. He's in your area (maybe across the sound).
Good luck.
kind regards,
