Jacko - Make sure you snorkle at the COD Hole if you don't SCUBA dive it. Just outside Lizard Is. Staff would show you where it is.

Re: My Own Identity at Last

Hi, everybody,

Thanks to all of you for the notes. Charlie, do you remember the name of the skipper of the Yankee 30 on which you raced? By any chance was it Carl Ondry? or Alex Malocorto, "Rocinance"? or was the skipper a surgeon, the owner of "Hurrah?" I'm not remembering the name of Carl's boat right now--it may come to me later on. Also, which marina did you sail out of? (we were out of Emeryville. Incidentally, one of our marina mates at the time, Ed Homer, "Trollope" also raced MORA from there, and is now living in Grass Valley after lengthy employment abroad.

Rusky, the plan is to finish up the boat jobs that arrived while we were in the US, then south to Tassie for summer after a stop in Pittwater to paint the bottom. Only the passage of time will inform us as to what we shall have done. What is the name of your K-P 46?

All the best to all of you.

Ann Cate, s/v Insatiable II, lying Lake Macquarie, NSW, Australia

Re: My Own Identity at Last

Hi Aunty: ( LOL) The owner of the Yankee 30 was named Lance I believe. He only raced for one season. I don't think he was a surgeon. I did most of my sailing out of Sausilito and some out of Richmond YC. As you probably know Nevada City is only a few miles away from Grass Valley. I enjoy reading of your trips and appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

Re: My Own Identity at Last

Welcome Aboard Ann,

Have always enjoyed the posts of Jim and yourself. I am still new around here, but when you are in Pittwater give me a holler, my old girl is lying at the Salt Pan, over from the Royal Albert.

Hope you are enjoying Lake Macquarie, it is a truly beautiful place. The first time I went sailing alone when I was 5, was in Warners Bay in a Sabot.

Cheers,

Tim

And, here, we thought Jim liked to speak in a falsetto!(all rumours quashed). Fantastic to now have expert opinion & advice from yet another seasoned veteran's perspective. Thanks for "officially" joining us!

Hey Ann... Welcome to CF..
Phew... glad to hear you used to post under your husbands name....
A few of us were getting rather worried about Jim.... some of his Posts were just 'Too Sympatico' to be by a 'normal' guy.....
