Smile Need info on my autohelm 7000 circa 1998

Greetings
As a new member of this illustrious club! I will start by saying hello and how delightful it will be to get some outside help with my problems. Also I hope that I will be able to return the favor with some of the experiences that I have already had.
Last year I completed the ARC and apart from learning a huge amount about myself and the boat,I did have a few things that broke---who said it was a milk run?One of these was my Auto-helm 7000 that has given me 10 years of brilliant service,BUT chose 3 days out of Gran Canaria--wouldn't you know,to pack up.
After an epic 17 day sail we arrived in St Lucia where the autopilot was dismantled and the Hydraulic Linear motor(type 300) was found to have burnt out it's brushes.WHERE CAN I GET NEW ONES FROM.Sadly the boat is still in Grenada so I cannot produce the offending item.I have to say that in true Carib fashion the electrical engineer did grind down a pair of similar brushes, which of course I now want to replace with the proper spare.
Raymarine are trying, but not hopeful.any suggestions?

Aloha Wings,
Welcome aboard! That's it. I can't help you with your needed parts but can extend encouragement.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Welcome, Wings.

If Raymarine can't help, I'm not sure what to suggest, unless someone can find a junked unit to cannibalize.

Anyway, glad to have you here. I suppose you're planning to come back next Fall to cruise the islands?
