New boat - New Sailor

Hi all,

Just picked up an old but nice 26' Albin 79 with trailer. Have it parked in driveway for the Winter to refit and then it's off to Lake Superior in the Spring. Sailed on real small stuff messing about when I was younger (30 yrs ago lol) so you could say I'm a deck mopper with potential. Glad to find this forum about a month ago and I'm spending hundreds of hours lurking and learning. Thanks for all the good info and don't worry I will be safe!

Syd

Thanks, it appears to be well built however it's virtually impossible to find any info on it. I found myself using an online translator for a few of the mainly Scandinavian reviews that are out there. If anyone has owned one or can direct me to someone who has please pm me. If I can address any potential issues on the boat this Winter I would like to do so while I have it apart.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here. The Albin Vega is a pretty popular boat. Is it anything like that?
kind regards,

I also saw on sailboatdata the Albin Express and Albin Accent were both 26 footers. Does your boat have a centerboard or is it a fixed keel?

Enjoy Lake Superior! That's my ol' stomping ground! I went to school at MTU!
