New guy with 38' kantola tri

Thanks to you all for discussing the Kantola project on the other thread.
I picked it up on google and chased the owner down and bought it.
I have been looking for a mid sized Kantola for years and the very few I found were WAY out of my price range. This one needs a lot of work and I hope to have it ready to go south this fall. Here is a pic taken yesterday:

Thanks again!

Aloha Robert,
Welcome aboard and good luck with your new boat. I've sailed on Pivers and Cross Tris.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Welcome Robert - you will find a wealth of information here and a LOT of expertise. May I suggest that you fill in your profile so that when you post questions, responders will be able to tailor their answers to your specifics.

Good luck and enjoy your new boat!

Thanks Thomas, I will have a lot of ?s for you guys and gals, and maybe add something semi-intelligible to boot. I spent close to 10 years in Ventura Harbor next door to you. Really like the area and the Channel Islands.

Robert, welcome aboard. I also am building a project tri. Check out my Photo gallery. I have a Piver Lodestar that was a bare hull when I bought it. I look forward to seeing your progress.

Robert - yeah, I REALLY like the area. I was up in MOSS with Scott for three years before I came down the coast, and for sailing and weather, you can't beat this location (either Ventura or CIH). On the other hand, the cost up in Moss WAS (and I stress WAS) significantly cheaper to berth a boat. It is trying hard to ketch up with other areas, even though they don't have the infrastructure and accessability as SC or Monterey (or for that matter, Ventura/Channel Islands).

Scott was a little depressed lately; he is down to two boats. But the Tri- project has kept him going - I think that subconsciously he believes he has three more hulls, so, three more boats - that would mean he has four boats now. But, of course, he tells the admiral it is only two.
