New Liveaboard Headed South from SoCal

Hello all!!

Our newly renovated C&C 37R (Holo Nui) is nearly complete and will be in the water by mid-June .

We are moving aboard and plan to sail South from Southern California starting with the Baja Haha Cruisers Rally in October.

We are hoping to meet other folks who are off on the same adventure so, please drop us a line!!!

I'm Mindy and my better half on this adventure is Ron. We hail from Huntington Beach, California and are making the transition from racing sailors to cruising sailors.

We purchased our C&C in Vancouver BC and sailed it down to Bellingham, Washington in early January. Super cold but WOW!! What a gorgeous trip!!!! Luckily, we had a beautiful 10 hours of sailing and got docked and a great nights sleep then woke up to 3" of snow covering our new boat the next morning!!! The Pacific Northwest is beautiful but, we prefer a climate where the butter melts so off we go South!!!

I'm looking forward to reading the adventures and wisdom of other cruisers here!!

Happy Sailing!!!

Mindy

Welcome, although we are currently on the other side of the pond, I'm sure you will find lots of folks from your area lurking about these forums. James

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Holo Nui could mean several different things in Hawaiian. The great run? Or comically the big run around? I'm no language expert so maybe you have another translation in mind.
Great to have you here.
kind regards,

Thanks for your welcome John!!

We are both off shore racers, transitioning to cruising so, we have a race boat remodeled inside for cruising. The Great Run would be the best translation for us but I like The Big Run Around better!!!

Welcome to CF!

Hopefully I'll be able to find a crew to join for the Baja HaHa this year and will be part of the fun like you guys! If not, we should still totally meet when you come to San Diego to start it!

We can't wait for the HA HA!!!! It seems like it's forever away but, we have Transpac to conquer first, then the delivery home so our July and August are booked solid!!!

Hope to see you in San Diego!!
