Hello Woodsong,
Get a catamaran, easy to power, sailing without heeling, (wife will love that), room for all your toys and to lounge around. Just an option, and options are always good. Watch out for a boat that is hard to get on and off, thats important. Is not like you are going around the world and it sounds like shallow draft might be important on the low level lake. Good luck and happy hunting!

Whats wrong with homemade hooch, "hic"?

Woodsong,

I agree with herbseesmoore!! REALLY!!
Do yourself and family a favor and take your time, get some experience and check out cats. JMO
Actually I have a mono but working toward the cat. I love both and they both have pros/cons but for family life, space, stability, etc. I think cats are the cats meow (sorry...couldn't resist)
Welcome and good luck!!

thanks for the feedback all. I absolutely agree a cat would have the most space and shallowest draft. Only issue is limited slip availability due to wide beam!
