They are well built, medium displacement cruisers. Designed and built to take a beating off the South African coast, but also really sails well up and downwind. We raced my dad's boat for several years and managed to take some silver in the cruiser fleet. The only negative I could say about the boat is that she did have a tendency to roll from side to side when overpowered downwind under spinaker - strapping in the sheet and guy helped with this. Probably not an issue for cruising though - in those conditions a cruiser wouldn't be flying the spinaker anyway!

My dad's boat was sold in Cape Town and the new owner sailed it to Scotland, not sure where to after that. I would not hesitate to recommend the design to a couple who wanted a safe long distance cruising boat, depending on the condition it is in.
