New member introduction

Greetings. Longtime boat guy here. Mostly Alaska. Some Caribbean, and most recently a brief time on some canals in burgundy. Which by the way i was mightily impressed.
Being a fellow of advanced years, the casual pace agreed with me. I'm planning another couple weeks this September in northeast France. Looking forward to learning on this excellent forum. Cheers

Re: New member introduction

Hi, Kerik, welcome aboard CF.

Some years ago, we joined some friends of ours with a peniche and went through the Jura region in NE France. It was not only physically beautiful, but some of the wines were fantastic! We had a great time. Enjoy your trip later this year.

Ann

Kerik you were doing so well with your introduction then you showed a picture of your stink boat! Most of us are blow boaters.
I loved the canal boat, did you hire it for two weeks?
Cheers

Yes, i plead guilty to operating a diesel powered boat.
Yes, we hired the boat for a week...next time i plan on 2 weeks.
I was under the impression that this forum had a bit of a European canal component.
Anyone know of such a forum?

Ah c'mon, that's a beautiful boat!

I'm a sailor, but am also a firm believer if you are out on the water, you are at least doing some somethings right...

Welcome to the forum!

Re: New member introduction

Gotta love the NW aluminum cruisers. Tough as nails, go like stink, comfy and warm. What’s not to like?!!

…I wish I had one out here on the East coast!

Welcome to the forum! All are welcome- you’ll find the odd off-putting conversation here- but c’mon- it’s an Internet forum! My experience has been very positive thus far- stink potters and raggies alike.

And- can’t agree more about the European canals. I see much more of them in my future as well. Fingers crossed…

If you click on "forums", upper left of screen, you can select https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f17/, which will give you Europe & the Mediterranean. Or, if you use the Custom Google Search, under the Search button, google "canal boating" and see what comes up.
