New member, recomendations for blue water ketch

Hello every one out there, I have just joined this forum. I was looking for some help in buying around a 60ft ketch to sail around the med then go over to South America. I would appreciate all your comments and information.

Thank you
Giles

Welcome to the forum Giles.

The Amel 55 is quirky, but very nice, but this would be my pick:

What is your price point.? New or second hand? Are you sure something as large as this is the best option?

Most yachts around this size are custom built and many will put on a ketch rig if that is what you want

Thank you very much for your links, I think the max I would be looking to spend would be around the 250 thousand euro.

They're not boats, They're toys, designed to cater for drunks.

Re: New member, recomendations for blue water ketch

A quick peek at Scanboats nets 16 hits in the 200 to 300 k euro range of boats between 18 to 20 meters
Bayliner 2855, Explorer, "new England" ..., brugte bde til salg, sejlbde motorbde motorsejler speedbde og joller

Not a lot to choose between. Didn't bother to look to see how many were ketches

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"
