New 'On Board' this Forum

Hey all,

Just to say hello to all "on board" this forum. I am Dutch, married to a great Brazilian and we have a 6 year old "Dutch, Brazilian, American" boy. We are currently living in Houston, TX, USA. Our boat is a Dutch ketch design Koopmans 42, Aluminium centerboard, lying in Seabrook TX. In October 2011 we will depart from Seabrook TX, to Charleston SC. In November 2011 we will head to the Virgin Islands (direct via Atlantic). after one year in the carib, we plant to head into the Pacific and so on. Will post some pictures of the boat later on. Looking forward to participate on this forum. Kind regards, Peter A S

Mundinho, Welcome to the Cruiser's Forum. If you have not made specific plans in Charleston, consider the Charleston Maritime Center on the Cooper River for dockage time. We often spend a little time there for provisioning and it's a short walk to all that Charleston has to offer, though it's best to time your docking with slack current. Anchoring options are still best on the Ashley River side of Charleston.
