New To Boating

Hi all,

I am new to sailing as of this past October. I took 2 American Sailing Association courses in Monterey, CA and fell in love with it right off. I now want to find boats that I can crew on during the winter months to get some experience and hopefully buy me own boat soon. I live in eastern Oregon now so will be doing mostly lake sailing...I wanted to learn on the ocean.

I chose my username Bacchus because he is the God of fun and frivolity which is going to be the theme for my boat. The dream is to be a live aboard retiree in a few years and live anywhere warm where I never have to wear shoes again.

I found out about this site from a co-worker who used it to find a boat to crew on last winter. Hoping for the same and to find information and support for my budding interest in this new adventure.

Re: New To Boating

Hello and welcome – may wine, music and ecstatic dance aboard your future boat liberate you and your followers!

When young I visited Crater Lake – one place I would certainly enjoy to see again, so if you plan any sailing here, please drop me a line...
