New to cruisers Forum & the Bahamas

Planning to enter Nassau harbor by the east entrance; any suggestions, helpful hints or warnings.

Call Nassau harbour Master on vhf 16 on approach. Maybe 15 to 30 min out and request entrance. They will get some info from you and you are good to go. It's easier than getting a bridge opening in the icw. Charts show a few decent anchorages. I prefer junkanoo Beach, and most of the docks and fuel pumps have signs outfront. Most will answer vhf 16, eventually
