New to forum and need advice

Hi, I'm new to the site and here's the deal. Just bought a new to me catamaran in NY and plan on moving it slowly down south. I'd like to take six months or so to get it to florida so I avoid hurricane season. In reality I'd like to keep it cheap and reasonable since I'm still a few months shy of real liveaboard status. Retirement is about nine months away but I wanted to get a leg up or I might have taken forever to make it happen. Anyone have advice as to cheap mooring or dockage along the way? For now I'm looking at leaving NY and getting down toward Philly or so for a month or more. Then tryin to make it to the boat show">Annapolis boat show. Then south from there. If there was any way to be near a commercial airport (PHL, BWI, etc.) that would be a blessing for getting back and forth to work. Ideas? Thanks

Howdy and welcome aboard this forum.

While I don't have specific answers for you I do have a few suggestions:

1. Post your question in the multihull and monohull forums here or in the liveaboard forum.

2. There are cruising guides to the ICW with books about anchorages

3. If you have not already cruised down the ICW, watch this video on YouTube (see parts one and two). I found it very interesting.

There are lots of places near Baltimore's inner harbor, none of them cheap. In theory, you could anchor I suppose. Good light rail connection to BWI.
