New to Forum, from Michigan

Hi, My name is Terry, I'm in the marina business in the Lake St. Clair, Mi. area, been a power boater all my life and ready to switch to a catamaran. I'm interested in either a Gemini 105 M or a PDQ because of the well sizes in the great lakes area.
I've checked out some threads about outboards and it sounded like the PDQ with outboards mounted further forward might be better than the 105 M, but was wondering if the sonic drive was longer than the Yamaha 9.9 drives and would solve the cavitation problem in the Gemini's or if the diesel was mounted further forward than the outboard models?
Also wondering how both fresh water and our shorter waves would effect bridge deck slapping?
I'm hopeful we have a few cats sailing Michigan. We also want to stay aboard down south for part of the winter. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. I'm a Michiganian also. (don't like the "gander" ending). I don't have any info on the boats your looking at. There are very few cats in this area. Good Luck and Happy Holidays.

Rigamarole

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you also! I want the opposite which is a large cat & a small power boat. I have a 40' Silverton I'm going to sell and see if I would like a cat. I always liked the Hobie Cats & Prindles so I'm hoping I will like the larger cats.
I close the marina down from mid Nov. until April so want to live aboard a cat in the winter somewhere down south.
I've found four 105 M Gemini's in the great lakes and would like to find out about the single diesel or the outboards. I really like the 36' PDQ but worry about the 18' beam and well spacing in other marinas.
If you ever get to the other side of the state, I'll give you (or other forum members) a free well. Thanks, Terry

Hello SkiprJohn and thanks for the greet. It's 70 degrees and holding......but I wouldn't want to go outside! Are you live aboards, just cruising the islands, or reside in Hawaii and boating when you get a chance? Are you staying at a marina with a web site that I can check out? Happy boating & thanks for the boating links. Terry
