New To Forum - Old to Sailing

Hello ya'll,

I recently signed up for the forum. I have recently moved to Galveston, TX on the warm, but not to clear, Gulf Coast. Just to introduce myself. I am a live aboard on a Beneteau 393 2005. Have been living aboard for a year now. I am looking to sell my boat and buy another more suitable one. By suitable I mean one more suited to my family situation. I have a daughter in a wheelchair and need something a little more access friendly. Any suggestion on on type? Presently considering either a Cat or a Deck Salon. I am a day sailer mainly with the occasional coast cruises. Have sailed in many sized boat since growing up in CT on Long Island Sound. Hope to get lots of good thoughts from ya'll.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I would think that a cat would be a good idea for wheelchair access. One of our club members is working on a power boat to make it chair accessible. Not an easy task but doable. I think it will require a derrick type arrangement but I'm going to keep an eye on how he does it.
regards,
