Newbie here!

Hi allmy name is Wes and I'm a 28 y/o marine systems tech in Maine. Recently graduated from the Landing school with degrees in boat building and marine systems. Looking to make some contacts and get ideas for my up coming live aboard status. I'm a wealth of information so please don't hesitate to ask anything! Take it easy! Where's my Lats and ats at?

Wes

Aloha Wes,
Welcome aboard!! I don't know a thing about "Lats and ats" but can tell you that we'll use your knowledge as much as we can. You can also ask questions and there is a wealth of knowledge here.
My latest question is how is an International Folkboat rudder attached to the transom. We need to remove it to replace gudgeons and pintles. Just lifted the boat out yesterday, loaded it on a trailer and towed it 100 miles to my friends place. It just sailed across from Lahaina to Honokohau a couple weeks ago but "needs a little" work.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

John,
Call Sven Svendsen at Svendsens Boatworks in Alameda Ca. He is the local builder and guru of Folkboats.

You may also try someone here as well.
San Francisco Bay Folkboat Association - Folkboats

Oh yeah...Welcome aboard Wes! It will be nice to hear from someone who is up on all the latest technologies, but don't discount the old farts who have logged thousands of miles that are out there doing it!

Thanks all! John I wish I had a picture of that rudder set up, i looked online but couldn't find a good pic of the transom. Good luck. David, I would never dream of discounting *old farts*. I think you should be called wise beyond your years but youth challenged? Hmmm i don't know, i've been hanging with Sailor Jerry tonight, i'll get back to everyone tomorrow.
