Newbie in Sacramento

Hello All,
What a great group. Looking at starting courses in Nov. in San Fran. I'm all alone in my endeavor......anyone around the area that could use company or be company once a get a boat in 2011? I'll do it alone but you know that good company is always better.

Good luck.

houseboy! Fetch mah backscratcher! And tell her she doesn't get to bring any knives this time, that didn't turn out so well the last time 'round.

Seriously though, good to have you aboard You'll get plenty of networking done if you start classes and join some local clubs, but if you're still partner-less by the time launch-day gets closer, try a posting in the Crew Wanted(?) section of this site. Until you're sure you don't get seasick, I'd hold off on a posting there, though

Welcome Houseboy!
Try heading down to Stockton: Stockton Sailing Club Home Page
I believe that they have the largest fleet of Columbia Challengers anywhere. Plenty of opportunities to crew/learn. The Challenger is a great little keelboat but they have other sailboats too. I hear they are good bunch of folks.

The bay is a great place to get your feet wet. It's challenges will force you to be aware. Just remember the ocean is a whole other body of water. BEST WISHES in learning your new skills.........i2f
