Newbie ... SF Bay

Just dropped in to say hello all ...

I grew up on Balboa Island and have been sailing all of my life. Accordingly, my recent move to the Bay area has presented some wonderful sailing opportunities. I have owned and raced a couple of Sabots, a few Lasers, and a Lido 14 over the years but just bought my first "grown up" boat: a Jeanneau 36i. It gets commissioned on Nov 30 and, as I am growing more impatient by the day, I thought that I would slake my thirst for the sea a bit by reading through the various threads on this forum ... an amazing wealth of information you guys have created here. Thanks for that

Welcome aboard:

Great group of people and lots of info. I grew up sailing SF Bay. Lots of fun sailing if you like heavy wind. I saw a Jeanneau in Washington state as I was delivering my boat to Oregon. Nice looking boat. Enjoy the Bay. I hope to have my boat down there in April.

Ambiance,

At least you won't have to bottom coat with anti fouling in SF bay, the chinese have a new program for "friends", killing all marine life in the harbors of their choice.

Aloha Ambiance,
Welcome aboard!! My inspiration to learn how to sail was while watching boats from the Golden Gate bridge walkway while a young Navy sailor on liberty. Never stopped loving boats since those days in the '60s.
Kind Regards,
JohnL
