Newby wants to buy a FP Athena38

Hey guys
I am Michael from Germany and my spouse and me, are turning 60th,I pretend we can retire in the next 12month, so its time to say hello to a catamaran.

We had a sportboat (Bayliner2052) for about 15 years, but it was to hard to tow it always to croatia for 3 weeks a year by car.
So Watersport is our passion and now we want to sail in the winter times at the canarian islands and be home in summer 6 to 7 month on sea.
The dicission for a Fountaine Pajot Athena Catamaran is made because of the budget and we dont want to sail a mono hull, because of that list thing!
If you know what I mean.
So enough for now

If a Athena owner has some planes and owner manuals about a Athena 38 I would appreciate if sharing is possible.
I want to know where are the water and Diesel Tanks located and if they are easy removeable?
Regards Michael

Welcome.

I would suggest updating your profile with your general location and your boat make & model or “Looking” in the "Boat" category. This info shows up under your UserName in every post in the web view. Many questions are boat and/or location dependent and having these tidbits under your UserName saves answering those questions repeatedly. If you need help setting up your profile then click on this link: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...ml#post3308797

I would happily help more if the link above is not enough.

Also, if you go to the Fountaine Pajot sub group of the Multihulls group, you can do a search for 'Athena' & find all the posts about the design. see https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f136/

My guess is its similar to out Bahia which is the big sister of the Athena, our Diesel tank is in the cockpit locker and removable, water tanks are in front of the saloon, accessible sort of, thru the forward cabin hanging lockers. In the Bahia its possible to get them out into the cabin after removing the hanging locker cabinetry, but they dont fit out of the cabin so any repairs have to be done on the bunk!
