Not Lurking

Hi all, someone complained about us lurkers. So I'll come out and start being sociable.

I am a 30yr old dialysis patient that lives in Kansas City, MO. I've never seen the Ocean, and the largest boat I've been on was a pontoon in a lake. But I want to go sailing! Specifically around the world, but right now that is a lottery dream, so I'm indulging myself here and a few other places. My dream boat is an Antares 44i. And once I get that retirement package I'll have her commissioned.

Welcome neighbor!

You might be miles from the ocean, but with Smithville up the road, you have sailing right in your back yard. You might even be able to crew on one of the boats there and we even have a yacht club.... sort of. If you are interested check out the website and come to a social.

I didn't complain about the lukers, just challenged you all to join.

If you get your hoped for response to your drinking and drugs thread will that help your boat dreaming

Welcome to the light.

I plan to go up to the yacht club in the spring. Start watching the races. I can't participate until I get a transplant though. I do what's called peritoneal dialysis, where I have a catheter in my abdomen. That means I can't swim, and hence can't pass the test to sail at the YC. But I can still watch and get to know everyone. And once I do get a transplant, we are off and away!
