NZ to OZ: Import Duties & Passage Time

hi folks new member just going to nz to buy a boat shortly wonderering if anyone knows what import dutys you have to pay and what time frame to sail it back to australia cheers keith

Welcome to CF. Your number might have confused a few people, usually people are a bit more friendly on here.

Lots of Kiwis and Aussies on here, and I've seen that question asked before, if they don't reply, try a search on here.

There is no duty and 10% GST if you can prove that the boat was built in NZ. If it was built somewhere else then you will pay 5% duty plus 10% GST.

Err, GST was 12.5% and recently went up to 15%.

WHat port in Aus to what port in NZ to answer the timing question.

Err, maybe the thing to do is skip sailing and head back to the drawing board. Think footy. Play to your strengths. There's a world cup to be won.

oops, couldn't think of any reason someone would leave NZ and go to Aus.

World Cup? thinking of renting the house out and going on holiday to avoid it.
