Aloha Daddy Stew,
We've kind of captured your thread to talk about Military Service and especially Navy stuff.
Sorry about that.
Maybe someone would like to start a new thread called "Navy." Each post could start out with "This ain't no __it."
Any luck in your search for a trimaran? Can I convince you to get a monohull instead?
I was on the Edmonds, Carpenter, Cowell, Orleck, Samuel Gompers, Long Beach, Bainbridge and helped decommission the Marysville.

But Capt K,

How about the bar girls, I'm still intrigued by the buxom go-go dancer at the Nakon Phenom (NKP or better yet, Naked Fannie) AB Club that had square boobs. I guess she got her silicone from a box. I still get flash backs of the Venus Steam and Cream, war is hell.

Wukong.

Where is this bar you are reffering too?

I have never set foot over in Vietnam or any of those countries that surround Vietnam.

I was mostly a Atlantic & Med sailor. Stationed on the east coast my whole 9 years in.

Capt K

As a member of the Few, The Proud and The Priviliged (How is this at a jab?) I experienced Asia from Bangkok to Angeles City, from Jakarta to Tongducheon. What good are clean sheet, liquor, or steak if you don't have someone to share the experience. It's a lousy job but someone has to run the bars.

I did spend two weeks aboard the USS Blue Ridge during Team Spirit 83 (An Annual Exercise in Korea) and I have to say that entertainment around an Air Base in Asia is much more interesting than the Navy's finest cruise ship.

Woohoo!!

It's party time!!

Well. My "real" partying days. (Drinking like a fish) are over. I only drink occasionally. Or if I had a really bad day.

Like on Thursday night (Bad night for everyone where I work at!!). I downed a 6 pack of beer before heading off to bed. And slept like a baby.

Looking at a 39ft Trimaran in Ontario. Its an Ed Horstman design. Just waiting to get news on the sale of my house in NC. The winters here in Oshkosh are too cold for me. Give me blue water and warm breezes any day.

I don't mind the use of this thread for "Navy" discussions. Takes me back to some great memories.

Anyone frequent any of the "animal bars" in Alongapo City, Philippines?

Or maybe throw coins in the "Mud" river for the kids to dive for?

Aloha Daddy Stew,
Yes, I did. Amazing how many pesos in a stack a certain person could pick up with a certain part of their anatomy and give change. I liked Subic City and Angeles City as well.
