Potential San juan Owner Checking In.

Greeting All,

After several years of having free (or very inexpensive) access to 19' - 28' sailboats at various Navy establishments around the world, I decided maybe it was time to own one. I just started the buy process yesterday for a 1980 San Juan 28. This Friday is the big day when my wife and I get to go spend some time on it and go for a test sail. We've done a quick look, gave the brokerage firm a deposit check and will go through the process in the coming weeks. From what I've read so far, there is alot of info here and nice folks too.

I too used Navy sailboats for many years before buying my own.
I'm not familiar with the San Juan boats but they certainly are popular in the PNW.
