Puerto Rico semi retired in 7 years? Live aboard? Fishing charter?

7 years gf retires from post office.

We're headed to Puerto Rico for a week on Oct 23rd 2021 (bout a week!). Investigating semi retiring in Puerto Rico.

I work at a casino as a blackjack/roulette /craps dealer. I'm pretty flexible when I work & can get time off. I do a small amount of crypto & rent out rooms in my house.

I'm an Air Force veteran.

Considering starting a fishing/snorkeling charter, running an air bnb, doing live aboard, & maybe dealing some in Puerto Rico.

My boating experience is 16 foot fishing boats in Minnesota. How to get comfortable/experience necessary to run a charter or do live aboard maybe sailing the area?

I'd like to make some money off owning a boat. But maybe that's a little naive?

Congrats!!! Sounds like an awesome plan!

For charters, you'd need a bigger boat... and, at the very least, the USCG 6-pack OUPV captain license.

Sounds like a great plan!! Keep posting specific questions... I'd love to do something similar to you when I semi-retire.

Thanks you got me headed in right direction.

About $800 for licensing & only lasts 5 years. I'm pretty frugal. Croatia i can get it for $130 lol. I'm maybe headed to Croatia in April for a cruise.
