SAILOR that doesn't Sail

Hello all. New to this world. Recently purchased a 1982 US YATCHTS US27 . It's a beautiful boat... and I know nothing about anything. I look forward to gaining some wisdom here and hope to be able to give back one day. Until then, I am just a fly on the wall. O... and the Sailor part is due to my current 19th year in the Navy. Retirement is coming and this boat is astep one of 100.

Welcome aboard, DocRob. I can recommend retirement, having now practiced it for some 37 years. Fits well with cruising... at least for us!

Welcome to Cruisersforum Doc Rob,
Boat ownership will keep you busy in retirement,
you will even be able to find time to sail occasionally!

Excellent choice for a first boat!

Easy to handle in cruising employment. Not too complicated to learn on, yet quite weatherly and capable of a good turn of speed since she was designed as a racer. Pleasant accommodations.

Boat handling you'll pick up in a weekend. Seamanship is a different thing, but you time in the Navy will have got you off to a good start.

All the best,

TrentePieds
