Saying hello

I have been a longtime lurker (years) but just joined today.

I am a novice sailor just now but gaining experience as much as I can.
My boyfriend and I, currently, do our sailing in Colorado on mountain lakes. I'm learning a lot because we get a lot of shifting winds but it's far different than the ocean cruising we will do in a few years.

I'm very excited right now as we have just started the count down on our circumnavigation plan. It's been years in the dreaming stage but now it's at the stage where we are taking steps to make it happen. Over the next 3 years we will be taking some sailing courses including asa certifications and getting on the water as much as possible.

Of course we have spent years reading about everything but suddenly we find new questions arise as the plan gets real. So much to do!

Re: Saying hello

Welcome! Sounds like a fun plan. Learn lots, ask questions, and enjoy the process!

Re: Saying hello

Sounds like a plan! It seems like a lot of Colorado folk make their way onto sailboats somehow. I spent a decade in Boulder until happening aboard a boat.

In terms of prep, you don't have to stop with sailing there if you don't want to..diesel mechanics, electrical, canvas work, and so much more!!

All the best!
