Wink Seeking Advice for Cruising Mozambique

Hello all

I am new to this forum and it seems like there is a wealth of knowledge to be gleaned from all of you experienced sailors.

I am set to depart for Mozambique in 17/04/2010 out of Durban, have a few burning questions that I would like any of you who have sailed this area before to answer.
We are supposed to pick up 3 guests flying into Vilanculos (Vil) on 23/04 and cruise bazaruto islands for a week, then drop them back at Vil and continue up north possibly as far as Pemba.
Now here come all the questions:-

-Will we be able to clear customs in Vil ?
I heard a rumour that we my have to do this at Inhambane as Vil does not have the authorities to do this.
- Will we be charged for anchoring in Vil while waiting for guests to arrive, if so is it possible to anchor outside the port and use a tender to transport the guests ?
- I am an avid Spearfisherman/fisherman, is it possible to get licences from the embassy in Durban for these activities before departure ?
- What would be the better ports to dock at or areas to anchor in order to get fresh provisions ?
- Where would it be best to fill diesel, is the diesel of decent quality in the north ?

Looking forward to receiving info from any of you

Regards

Bruce

I dont have any knowledge of the area you are talking about, but the first thing I would do to research the problem would be to look it up in World Cruising handbook, and also to look at www.noonsite.com
