Songs from the Seas

Good morrow!

I am a musician from Manchester. Having just given up my job as a teacher in Portugal, I have now embarked on a voyage in a small red boat called Bloodshot. Completely new to sailing, my main challenge at the moment is seasickness, and after that, trying to get used to the sometimes quite frankly bizarre terminology involved in the craft. I mean, why can't we just call it a toilet?

I will also be working on new songs as I travel, recording them in the "boat studio", which consists of an iPad and a small microphone, and any other musicians who happen to be passing through.

We are in Arrecife at the moment after two successful open water passages; four days from Lisbon to Agadir, and then a further two days from Agadir to Lanzarote. All in all I am quite pleased with how it's going, considering I am a complete novice.

I would welcome any feedback or advice as a new crewmate. If you glance at my blog emmajayashton | Songs from the Seas you will be able to see a few pictures and hear some of the boat music recorded so far.

I look forward to meeting some of you over the coming months! And if anyone is in Arrecife too and fancies playing some music, come visit me on the little red boat.

Lets hope you can beat the "mal de mer" and start enjoying the sailing.
Love the music, so does my Lab, he only sings along to acoustic guitar, strange dog!!.
