Soon to be sailor

Hi everyone! I'm a sailing novice Brit who has somehow married a keen sailing American.

We were planning on relocating from the UK to be nearer his family in California this year...but COVID has somewhat delayed those plans! We'd planned for sailing, including me learning my way properly around a boat to be a big part of our new adventure so -even though we're a bit delayed- I thought I'd join this forum to try and get my knowledge up and hopeully meet some like minded people

Any advice on learner courses, particularly around San Fran area very welcome! Thanks x

Hello, and welcome aboard,

ASA has a series of courses from a basic keel boat course up to more advanced boat handling and cruising courses, they have instructors in most every boating area.

Fair winds,

Hi! I’m a Canadian American married to a Brit, but neither of us is a sailor yet. Good luck with your sailing adventure!

I can recommend Modern Sailing Club in Sausalito (SF Bay area) for lessons. I took lessons there and they were great.
