St Pete Pier

Hi, Looking to sail out to St pete pier for 4th of july and anchor overnight. Anybody going??? Could use some tips, we are kinda new.

Use good ground tackle bottom is deep mud that doesn't hold well. I prefer outside, they usually have half of basin and a couple hundred yards from beach off limits for fireworks. We started our cruising out of tampa bay. Stayed in basin often.

I guess we will sail from seminole ramp. I dont want to be in too much congestion when anchored. We have always kayaked from coffee pot, but the trip back is a bear. in the dark too.
