Starting on the Ladder

All appears to be going well and will be buying my first boat soon, but am unsure of which thread I should be in? I am Australian living in Oz, and want to buy a US registered boat which is currently berthed in Mexico, my son is a US citizen living in DC, am looking for advice please as to who to register with. I intend cruising the Pacific before eventually finishing in about 4/5 yrs time in Australia, perhaps? Any advice would be appreciated.

Greetings, and welcome aboard europa1.

Questions about registration might best be posed (but don't worry too much about posting in the wrong places) at "Rules of the Road, Regulations & Red Tape", here:

Good luck on you boat search, and cruising.

Aloha and Welcome aboard!
Wow, that sounds like a pretty good plan but I don't know the answer to your question.
Kind regards,

Welcome, europa1.

Gord's suggestion is a good one. If you repost your question in that forum, you'll probably get more "looks" and thus more advice. You can also take advantage of the Google search feature in the small "Search" pull-down menu, upper right. Try some key words related to your question, and you'll find a number of threads on similar topics, like "importing a boat to Australia".
