Smile Sue from Hilton Head SC

Hi everyone:
I am the proud owner of a 1981 Grand Banks Classic trawler which I purchased in October of last year. I am in the process of restoring her to her former glory. Her teak was in desperate need of TLC which I am attending to on an almost daily basis. The transom, name and hailing port boards as well as the main deck rails are finished. She is looking better each day. I have a long way to go, but that was the reason for buying her - a project that I have totally embraced. I know the definition of a boat - Break Out Another Thousand..............it's a boat......things happen. Hope I'll be able to take care of all that stuff.

Sue,

Glad to see a gal with spunk and determination tackle a GB. It takes more time than money, just realize it was built one piece at a time and must be restored that way. Welcome to CF and please post some current photos.

Re: Sue from Hilton Head, SC

Hey, just saw you are from HHI.. That's my original hometown..And actually my father owned a Grand Banks that he used during his trip to the Keys and back.. Doubt it's the one you are working on... I still get to the island since my mom lives down there..just joined this forum .. My interest is to buy a Catamaran and spend a few years in the Caribbean.. Few more years to work though...
