pirate Sup?

I have no boat, next to no experience, but I really want to sail…and live aboard.

I’ll continue to lurk till I figure out what’s going on.

Thanks…

Oh yeah, My name’s Jay and my handle is a little Japanese joke of mine that got started a while back so just call me Jay.

I’ll see if I can’t put that in my sig somewhere.

Welcome.

We all have to start somewhere, but asking questions is a lot easier way to discover information than lurking.

There is no such thing as a dumb question - just a query about something you need to know, and somebody else knows the answer.

Thanks, Talbot I'll see if I can find a good question to start off with...I have so many.

Dave, don't worry man It's really a "Had to be there" joke but, it's a name I use on other forums from time to time.

Cool! What part of Japan. I was in Tokyo on and of for about ten years. I lived in a place called Shinkoiwa; that's how the joke got started but, really man, it's a "had to be there joke" and you almost have to be from Tokyo to get it.

Welcome Jay,
Hope you enjoy learning to sail, finding your boat, and do get out there cruising.
Cheers

Surprising I am not familiar with Shinikoiwa but there are lot's of little communities in Tokyo for sure.

We lived in Meguro-ku, worked in Haneda, hung out in Yokohama and travelled quite a bit. Primarily to all the "usual" places. Kyoto, Hiroshima, Fuji, Hokkaido etc. etc.

We had a blast. Years ago now. 1993-1999...

Aloha Jay,
Welcome aboard! Ask any questions and make responses. First port I pulled into in the early 60s was Yokosuka.
Good to have you lurking about.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Welcome Jay or should I say hajamemasheta dozoyuroshiku (excuse my spelling). I married a woman from Isihara south of Tokyo (can't remember 360 to 1 John; that's a pretty good bang for the buck!). Welcome again Jay.

Yes Jay,

When you have a pay check of $8 every two weeks a strong dollar helps a little bit. This was very early in my Navy career.

Unbelievable I ever had any money to spend on the beach.
