Lightbulb Sydney-Based (for Now)

Hi all,
Just found this site, whilst trolling for some information on my boat. Hopefully here I can get some advice when needed and maybe dispense some won with skin off and blood!
I have been refitting my 42' steel ketch for 3 years now - almost done - and about ready to take her sailing again. She has done one circumnavigation, next one with me on board if all goes well.
If there are good tips on steel needed or offered - I am all ears.

Richard,

Are you in Lake Macquarie? If so - have they dredged the channel there yet? I heard of a few guys bumping their way in and out, some dragged over by a helpful guy in a powerboat to heel them as they crossed.
I am currently berthed at Newport.

Cheers
Paul

Last report (2 weeks ago) Swansea channel is good for about 7'6" although I haven't tested it. There is one CF regular here who draws 7'2" and he had no problems about 3 months ago.

Greg,

Thanks for that. Might head up to the lake once back underway then. I draw 6', so should be ok.

G'Day Paul, and welcome aboard.

Ann and I knew Swaggie in her previous incarnation, under the guidance of Don and Gera, when she was an eye-burning orange color. I know they repainted her for domestic use! Anyhow, she's an accomplished voyager and will treat her at least as well as you treat her!

And yes, you will have no trouble entering the lake with 6 foot draft if they maintain the dredging.

Cheers,
