Taking the plunge!

Hi all, my Captain and I are ready to take our two young crew members and move to sea! Our house is on the market, and we are putting in an offer after many moons of searching on an Island Packet 35. My Captain (and lovely wife) has three Atlantic crossings under her belt, and has planted the bug in myself and our kids (8 and 2). We will be living aboard in the northeast for a few years, updating and getting to know our new home from stem to stern, then plan to travel the world for as long as we are able. Years of dreaming are about to become our reality, along with all the challenges and hardships that come with the liveaboard lifestyle. Not least among them being life on the salt through a few Maine winters! I'm glad to be a part of this community, all the "boat people" I've spoken to so far have been open, friendly, and encouraging, which as a landlubber with only 50 or so daysailing excursions behind me is more help than I can say. I look forward to learning with and through you all. Cheers!
