What Up (Especially to those Peeps in the SF to Central Coast of Cali)

I have like next to no sailing experience, but I have a dream which is to cruise the sea. At the moment though I would just like to learn the first (and maybe second and third...) thing about sailing. I also think it would cool to meet and talk to people so invested in such a fascinating thing. I love the design and beauty of both the sea and the boats. This would be particularly interesting to me as an architect student...I'm entering a competition this summer to design the america's cup 2013 pier complexes. So learning about sailing would be killing two birds for me... giving me context and vocabulary for my design and getting me closer to being a feasible crew member.

Head down to the docks and talk to some sailors. Welcome to the CF. Check out any sailing clubs in the area. Those are good sources for contacts and getting out on the water.

Welcome to the best sailing forum on the web.
Lot’s of folks dream about sailing the wild blue yonder, some talk about it and make plans to do it, and some, a small number of those dreamers, actually get around to living the dream.
Fortunately, this site is full of folks who do exactly that and if you check out the forums here, you will be amazed at the depth of freely exchanged knowledge available to you…James
