Don't know about Polars but this sort of sailing in about 5-7 knots of wind DDW is some of your champagne sailing.

A second had asymmetrical isn't expensive, why not take both? Ours is in a snuffer and flakes down into a reasonably small space under the forepeak berths so out of the way until we need it.

That's a big ocean, carrying extra sails so you don't trash the Genoa along the way would be worth considering.
