Cruising in Costa Rica

Hey All,

I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping you guys can help me figure out Costa Rica. I am considering cruising here and staying for an extended period of time, learn Spanish, surf etc, but also spend time cruising the coast.

Winds seems very light here. Pacific Coast is my area of interest and the average high in March is about 9 knots, dropping to 4-5 knots in August.

Does anyone have experience of cruising this coast? Any info you can share on wind and wave conditions? How often you had to motor? Places of interest?
