Re: For Those That Like Rough Weather

Make sure you scroll down first and then watch the video that is in the middle of the page. The video at the top is nothing more than a windy day.

I think there was an error in loading the video.

BTW the ad by Volkswagen is appealing.

Not really rough - but check out that roll at 50 secs and think of how the guys furling that sail must be feeling.

That's an excellent point. It seems impossible to take pictures or video of waves and swells from a boat that accurately represent their size, and that as a result when they look big on video they must be really big.

Found the right video down the page, that's a big ocean. Nothing to give scale to tell you how big? Looks big

The accompanying text (you need to speak Dansih to read - happily I do) says these are

12 meters high

When I saw this onthe news, there was a local fisherman whose comment was:

"bit of a fresh breeze today. Seas a little high - had to use the handholds"

Of course some of these guys are masters of understatement

Well if that's true I would have been expecting sunshine, palm trees and nubile young ladies is grass skirts

This is, after all, 56 degrees north - so we expect to get this - but not 2 major storms within 2 days.

Another one coming next week

carstenb,

It's being a hard winter. Glad your cleats will accept 25 mm line. I have a feeling some not to be named production boats cleats are not big enough.

Wow, amazing video. Looks like some light buffering will be required for the cargo at 10:25 on the last vid posted....
